A confession

I have a confession to make. And I make this because while I haven't had anyone ask, "Why my dear, have you not passed on the blog award I gave you?" I haven't quite explained why I don't do just that.

For my non blogging readers, (a.k.a. my real life family and friends) in the blogging community there are blog awards that are given to whoever you decide deserves the award. Anything from beautiful blog to versatile blog. I have been amazed to recieve both.

I have been given a few and just want those givers to know I am truly honored. Really, I am speechless when I think how much that means to me. I never expected to find a whole group of other woman, and even some men, who shared this beautiful lifestyle that we volunteered for when I wrote my first post. I am grateful for this, because already I've made real connections through blogging and know if I need advice, encouragement, etc. you ladies, amoung real life military wives and girlfriends, can relate easily.

With that said, (please don't hate me for this) I usually don't pass on awards or participate in blog hops. It's not because I don't want to meet more people or even feel appreciated and want to pass that appreciation on. But most all my family and real life friends read my blog. I try to update with happenings of our lives, promote organizations, and spreading the word about random findings. I think if I were to start posting about awards and blog hops, etc. I would lose their interest. Seing how I started my blog to keep them "in the know" with us since we live so far from all our family, I wouldn't want to do that!

I know you all understand because ya'll are awesome like that. I think it's great that these awards and blog hops exist and it's always fun to see the random facts included in the awards. If you're looking to have the blog passed on though, I'm probably not the person to give it to. Sadly enough. =[ Even though I am always extremely honored.

Feel free to give me your thoughts guys and gals!

  2. Passing on awards is your decision and not a big deal! You are given them because you deserve them and I do not think you don't deserve them because you decided what to do on your own blog. So enjoy your awards and know that you have received them for a reason....because you are fabulous!!

  3. So I posted a comment but then my internet went crazy and I lost my connection. If you get two of these disreguard this one! =)
I was saying that I totally agree with you! My blog is mostly for my 'real life' friends and my family. Meeting other military wives on here is awesome and just a plus! But my blog is to document my life during this deployment for the next year and more of just an online journal. I want to look back 6 or 9 and even 12 months from now and see how far I've came!
Also my grandma reads every single post so I wouldn't want her getting confused. (she does that easily enough on her own!) ;) lol Most of my readers are my family and friends. When I have stuff I want to share with everyone and it's too much to post on fb, I just post the link. (well you know that, duh) hahaa. I understand what your saying and where your coming from. I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all.
I love how your honest and you post your feelings even if you think some people might not like it. I know we don't always agree on everything but you still state your opinion and I like that. =)

  5. Im with you on this one :)
I appreciate the awards, but it would just confuse the heck out of my non-blogger readers, haha!

To answer the question you asked on my blog, I do have an Etsy page, however I don't like using it. I made a post a couple weeks ago saying that i am going to open up shop on my blog with paypal! :)

  6. Makes sense! I think awards are fun just to know that someone likes your blog and is thinking about you, but that doesn't mean you have to repost it or "use" it in any way. The most important thing is the friendship behind the "award," not the award itself. :)

  7. I'm the same way.

I always thank whoever gave me the award, and I'm totally flattered, but I never pass them on.

That is ok, I think :)

  8. p.s. I stop following you and re-followed you. Lol. None of your new post showed up ever since you changed your name so I would have to swing by your blog to see if you posted anything new. Hopefully this fixes it.

  9. I don't think there's a steadfast rule about awards. I don't do them always because They don't fit on my darn blog!!

I'm a new follower! Happy weekend!

  10. You took it straight out of my mouth. I got so much award already, the idea of writing a whole post every now and then for that is just really stressful.

    I am a new follower.
