Signing baby

I started signing with Mini Dh when he was about 2 months old and could focus on objects for a long period of time. Doc Handsome was deployed so I tried teaching him as much as possible. I never expected him to start reciprocating the signs at that age though. He is now 8 months and has occasionally, when he feels like it, signed "mamma" or "dadda." We weren't sure which one it was since they're pretty similar. We never sign the others title for fear of confusion. For instance, I never sign "dadda" and Doc Handsome neve signs "mamma." When we started signing to him, we decided to introduce a few signs at first. Mamma, Dadda, eat, and sleep. Today was the first day he signed "mamma" over and over again while I said it. I was astonished. Of course, after bawling my eyes out, I grabbed for my camera. And caught it. He is definitely saying "mamma." All these months of not knowing whether he would pick it up has paid off. He is watching and learning. And I think that, for a parent, is one of the most rewarding feelings. Knowing the things you want you children to learn are actually, in fact, being soaked up and applied.

Good job little guy. I am so proud of you. I think it's time to start introducing more signs. We're trying "gentle" for the animals and I think "more" could be helpful too.
