Let freedom ring

Our Independence day turned out to be a very lovely one. I was really looking forward to this day for the obvious reasons we all are (thanking our troops and loving our freedom of course) but also because I haven't been able to spend a 4th of July with Doc Handsome since 2007 due to some sort of military engagement. I got to sleep in thanks to him being so generous. After that we headed down to the street fair in our city where they block off the entire downtown area. Since I was in 8th grade I've always gone so it was nice to finally be able to take not only Doc Handsome but also my best friend, "Princess K," because neither have ever been. The sun was shining and the fair was packed with red, white, and blue. There's always a similar joy we all share on holidays like July 4th. Whether it's spoken or not, we all feel happy and blessed to be living in America. The patriotic spirit is defiinitely thriving on days like these. After the street fair, our best friends came over to our house for a bbq. Doc Handsome grilled some burgers and hot dogs. Us girls made up a few fruit and veggie platters along with some delicious mexican candy coating that goes great with watermelon and cucumbers. After that we put the baby down for the night since it was already 8, and us adults kicked back watching TV for about an hour. We woke the baby back up and jumped into the car to head down to the beach where we were meeting up with our other friends to watch the fireworks. Fireworks are illegal here in California so it was definitely a interesting time. We were all hanging out watching the people who had somehow smuggled fireworks, light them off as the police drove back and forth on the beach trying to figure out who was doing it. Those poor police. They've only given about 3-4 for a huge stretch of beach so it's almost pointless for them to even attempt to stop anyone. At one point, they just turned the car off in the sand, and sat there making sure no one was getting hurt. Everyone was safe and it was a nice show for the tons of people who came to watch. Mini Doc Handsome loved the fireworks. He was so fasinated with them and watched intently as they went off. Our Independence Day was memorable with amazing friends.
