It's all in the details

The walls at in our home are covered. From witty quoted plaques, to framed favorite memories, to beach themed momemtos throughout. Since we can't paint our walls, this is the best way I've figured out how to bring warmth to our little abode. And then we have some paintings. My mother in law paints. But not only does she paint, she paints extremely well. Don't believe me? See for yourself...(don't mind the beach theme in most of them. She does other stuff including floral, abstract, sunsets too, but our house is beachy so that's what she painted for us).

This one is by far my favorite. She painted it about a month before Doc Handsome returned home from deployment. Wouldn't allow me to see it. Nothing. When he finally did get home, we were allowed to take a peak. She wrote a beautiful letter on the back to us and I love how she signed it "mom" instead of our last name like she normally does. (Hence the blurred spots on the other paintings). This one hangs in our room where we can be reminded of it's meaning.

She is always so humble and gracious about how beautiful they actually are. I can't wait to get some gorgeous frames that will compliment them. I know they're one of those gifts that will be passed down to our children and grandchildren.
